Guitar Setup

This is the basic guitar setup we used on the Demiurge recording.

We utilized our live setup (Boss NS2 and Tech21's Sansamp to amp) in order to supply 3 simultaneously recorded tracks with another track from the V-amp2's stereo output L (to amp) and a single direct (to PC) from the right output R. Overall creating four live-amp signals and one direct signal in a single take.

This makes for five tracks from each guitar. Each with its own distinct sound and feel. Condenser mics capture the upper to mid frequencies with surprising detail; Dynamic mics take in all mid to low frequencies; direct signal gives an overall body with a full-range punch (amp-modeling and speaker sim technology).

The audio is recorded on the hard drive (enhanced) at 24bit resolution 96khz sampling rate (software dictate), or (raw) at 20bit 96khz (hardware). Advances in multi-track recording software enable us to capture audio at higher resolutions without giving in to hardware limitations.

Each guitarist has his/her own taste, style, technique or level of skill; giving them an almost unlimited range of possibilities to enrich their sound further. The configuration shown above is just a small example of what we can offer.
